Fishing the flats of Tampa Bay

 W

e all know that fishing is a good thing, but Fishing in Florida is a great thing. Add that to fishing the flats of Tampa Bay and you could not ask for anything else.  The pristene waters of Tampa Bay is just an extra benefit. The bountiful supply of the finest fish you could ever serve to your family is what you are really looking for.  Captain Alan Hines has enjoyed this for years and would like to share his experiences with you.
The beauty of a Snook breaking the water after he is hooked or the sheer power of a redfish trying to escape your frying pan is something you will not soon forget. There are also other species that inhabit these water like trout,  cobia,  mackeral,  snapper and sheepshead only to mention a few.
When most people think of salt water fishing, they think of off-shore deep sea fishing.  Off-shore fishing has it's benefits and also it's drawbacks,  including possibly up to two hours to and from the fishing spot.  The beauty of flats fishing is that you don't have the travel time or the apprehension that some people have in the deeper and choppy waters.
And, please,  at your leisure, check out our photo pages to see why booking a charter with Capt.  Alan is not only a good choice,  but as you will see,  the only choice for these people who took advantage of Captain Alan's talent and expertise.

About the Captain

Captain Alan Hines is a Florida native that has been fishing Tampa Bay and nearby waters for over 25 years.  Alan has become well known among family and friends for his ability to find and catch fish,  and after finishing well in several west central tournaments, Alan decided to open (Reel Smooth Charters Inc.) in November of 2005.  Alan has the knowledge and ability to ensure you have a safe,  fun,  informative and productive day on the water,  whether you're a beginner or an experienced angler.  Alan will try to answer any questions you may have concerning local fish,  tides,  conditions, locations etc.  Alan will work hard to ensure that you have a quality experience and equipment to put fish in the boat.  For your convenience,  Alan catches your live bait before the day begins so that you will be ready to enjoy your fishing trip when you arrive and he can fillet your catch if you desire.  He will also take photos of your fish and email them to you as well as post the photos on the his website.
Capt. Alan also loves to have children enjoy these trips too.  If anyone wants to sightsee for birds, dolphins,  turtles or maybe just to find a spot for the kids to jump in and cool off,  Capt. Alan will be glad to oblige.  Samples of what you can see on this charter will be displayed by clicking this link HERE.
